Bidrage med feedbackOur party was on holiday locally and we were recommended to try the pub out as it was only a short walk away as it was a nice place for food and to enjoy the views. To our surprise the pub was closed! I could understand if this was midweek however this was 1pm on a Saturday!Despite the website stating that they were open 12-3. We weren’t the only ones as another family also turned up claiming they had a booking and they were also turned away! This left us very disappointed and didn’t return during our stay as it was pot luck to whether it would be open.
We had a very enjoyable time at the Harp Inn. The view from our room was great. Dinner was exceptional. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family
It was a 'spur of the moment ' request for a table on a Saturday night. I didn 't expect to get one but we were lucky. We 've been to the pub a couple of times before for a drink; this was out first time for food. It 's a lovely location and it was a warm sunny evening, so we sat outside enjoying the views before going inside to eat. We had baked fig along with a selection of breads for starter which was really good followed by a chicken pasta dish and hake; both dishes were superb. For desert I had warm peach cake with ice cream, which was also very good. Not the hosts fault, but the experience was marred a bit by a noisy group in the same room. Otherwise a really enjoyable night. Service was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. We 'll be coming again.
Excellent location and very friendly staff. They were very busy, which I always take as a good sign. Food was well presented and hot, even though we had followed a group of 20 other customers through the door Good choice of ales and cider, together with a reasonable wine list. Young guy behind the bar was super helpful, apologies I didn’t get his name. Highly recommended. I live nearby in Kington and will be back.
Today we had a truly exceptional Sunday lunch at the Harp Inn. The main course was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyable. We had delicious roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, leeks au gratin, peas, mange tout, carrots and cabbage, served with good gravy. We had the lightest sticky toffee pudding ever with clotted cream ice cream. The service was welcoming. The views from the pub to the Shropshire hills are breathtaking. All in all a perfect Sunday lunch! We cannot recommend the Harp inn, Old Radnor, highly enough.
