Bidrage med feedbackCame there for luncheon, a simple meal. We had pasta: one with cherry tomatos, one con le sarde. Both were poor, the spaghetti overcooked. The former with an oversweetend tomato sauce, with not a hint of the taste of the fresh cherry tomatos offerd on the stands along the road, famous in this area of scicily. Not o single leave of fresh herbs, just plain, sauce. Any scout troop prepares better noodles on the campfire. The latter? Disapointing as well. Pasta con le sarde is usually prepared with wild fennel, fresh sardines, pingnolias and currants. No word about tomatos. On our plate we found a tomato sauce with sardines. Some fennel, and, after all, some pignolias and currants. Creative cooking redifined. Kittens playing in the beautiful ficus tree couldn´t save it.
A lot of choices from seafood. A great place to lunch outside under a big tree on the terrace. Friendly welcome and service.
Thought we would try this place on a recommendation- ended up being grumpy as the food was poor, relatively expensive and the wine was the worst I have had in years. I ordered a tuna steak later advised that this was a mistake) and was rewarded with a small piece 100-120g) of overcooked fish. Nothing came with this for €15. I had the company of a cat they have 10 resident manky cats). Better to order something else or better still to go somewhere else. I suppose I should not have been surprised as this place was one of very few restaurants that had empty tables. Wine was like vinegar and was hardly touched. Ho hum! I should learn to read the signs.......the associated bar next door had a reasonable arancino to fill me up even if it was a little greasy....
