Pearl Tavern - Portland

Love the atmosphere and waiter was great. My steak salad was just so-so

I made this reservation for some coworkers and myself. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly man and were promptly seated. Drinks were served, orders were taken, and food was brought out. The food was good and warm. Our server either had too many tables or didn’t know how to prioritize because we waited for almost an hour after we were finished with our meal for the check. Multiple times when she walked by we tried to get her attention but didn’t want to upset her by stopping her in her tracks. When we finally politely asked her for the bill, that took another 10 minutes. The restaurant either needs another server or they need to do some serving training with the current staff.

Had a great date here. Watched some of the blazer game and had some good food. Think elevated bar food. Mac and cheese was great and so was the fish and chips.

Food was cold and very expensive given the value. Cold steak frites? WTF?

Pretty limited menu. No small salads to accompany your meal, all large meal salads. The menu has changed from the original and took a lot of good items away. House wine was marginal. Atmosphere good, and staff want to please even within the limits of the menu. Asked for a side salad and they gave me mixed greens for $7. Not even a radish or tomato in sight on that salad. Just a small plate of greens. Might go back for happy hour and a beer when there is a good game to watch. Nice bar area
