Starboard Grill - Port Alberni

Service is amazing. Great beer, coconut onion rings are out of this world! Outside seating is covered and protected from the high winds of the water. No wifi so kids must talk to parents!! Great atmosphere!

Worth the drive. From Parksville to Port for our 2nd meal at the Starboard Grill. We were not disappointed. The ambience is perfect comfortable, tastefully decorated, clean. The view spectacular. Our server Pauline was friendly and efficient. Chef Brad followed through with a spectacular meal. Everything is freshly prepared. We cannot wait to make the trek over the hump to again enjoy some very inticing items from the menu. We were there for lunch which included the most wonderful tomato spinach soup with a creative and version of the toasted western on marble rye toast delicious. I ended my meal with egg nog cake. My husband had pumpkin brulee and loved it. Very rare to find housemade deserts and these were wonderful.

Nice surprise!. Past through Port Alberni on the way home from Tofino. Randomly walked into the Starboard Grill. Great spot, great food, great service. Our group of four all really enjoyed our food. We had nice crispy fish and chips, burgers with beautiful fresh local marbled buns, and an excellent house-made smoked salmon chowder. Can't wait to swing through again. Keep it up!!

Starboard has a great atmosphere and top-notch service. The waitresses are attentive, speedy, and friendly. The restaurant offers a lovely waterfront view and a clean dining area. However, the chicken hotpot I ordered was not very impressive in terms of taste or flavor. It wasn't particularly spicy either. Perhaps their burgers are their specialty? I may consider giving it another try in the future.
