Bidrage med feedbackWe had (and I recommend) 1 Caldo Gallego (Galician broth, great on a cold night) 1 Carrilleras estofadas con patatas (pork cheek, tender and tasty) 1 Croquetas caseras pollo y espinaca (croquettes, light) 1 Vieiras ala Gallega (scallops Galician style, fresh and tasty) 1 Pulpo la plancha (grilled octopus, new experience) We were staying the night and my wife was too tired (after walking 20+ km) to go down to the restaurant, I wanted to order takeaway, but the manager insisted on giving us room service and personally came up to set up table and chairs for two, and even brought the first few dishes. Lovely restaurant food and experience for our 2nd day of Camino.
Our second night on the Camino we were stuck for a restaurant on a Sunday night and were staying at the hotel where the restaurant is located. We should have fasted. I ordered sea bass which was 80% bones, my daughter ordered the filet which was a well done tough piece of who knows what. I had to pick through the bones with my fingers to get any fish. To add insult to injury they charged 51 Euros which was over 10 Euros more than any other meal we had all week including some really wonderful meals in Santiago. Do yourself a favor and don't get near this place.
We ate upstairs in a small dinningroom overlooking the square. The food was good and service excellent. There was a menu of the day for 12E with several choices for each course. 1st, 2nd, dessert, coffee and drinks. We had a local soup, very nice salad with tuna, a whole sole and a pork knuckle, white wine and cake. No exceptional but nicely prepared and fresh and a great deal for 24E. They also have outdoor seating on the square.
I'm going with the family from time to time. always excellent the kitchen, the deal and the local. the location is magnificent, in the wooden square. appetizer in the old area and after eating, late or on the terraces that are in the area. for me, a 10.
Quality of food is tinned stuff. Mixed salad was quite poor withe all ingredients, except salad, out of tins. No fresh ingredients. Arroz marisco far too expensive for the quality offered. Quite salty. Staff very friendly and the setting with the terrasse was very nice.
