Bidrage med feedbackOh my goodness! If you have not had a down home cooking in a very long time this is the place for you! My husband had the pot roast and mashed potatoes open face and the meat just melted in your mouth! Very flavorful and delicious and I'm not even a meat eater. I had the catfish was fried green tomatoes and fried okra and it came with this G Normas buttermilk biscuit! I could not put that biscuit down it was so so good. Our friends had the pot pie and the sugared ham and they both said it was the best that they have ever had. The servings are large enough to take home and half for another meal. The service cannot be beat Dash they are folks that you would have in your own home as family serving you. If you have not stopped here you are missing out!
Very inviting atmosphere with some delicious southern made breakfast! Extremely family friendly, will absolutely return!
Went here for early dinner (5-ish on a Sunday and judging by the reviews, I think we came at the wrong time of day/meal. The restaurant itself is pretty cool and much larger than it looks from the exterior. Outside, there is a pond with ducks, a mill, small waterfall, and scattered farm decor. There are fire pits and rocking chairs outside for those waiting for a table. We needed no wait at this time of day, as it seems the popular meal is breakfast and brunch. Since the lot is fairly small, I think parking could be tough when really busy. There is overflow parking to the right of the building. The upstairs level and kitchen are only open on Friday and Saturday mornings. The workers at the host stand were admittedly off-putting. Seemed very unhappy to see fellow humans walking through the door, which is strange for a person who is paid to welcome people into a biz. Our server, Amanda, was fabulous. Friendly and prompt, always remembering the small details/requests. She even brought complimentary cookies for our kiddos. The menu is small but the portions gigantic. I see mention in reviews of complimentary soup and biscuits. As of April 2022, we were given the complimentary potato soup, which was really great. Biscuits were not complimentary(at least at din , but one was included with two of our three entrees. Note that you are able to switch out your sides, even if a specific one is mentioned in the menu description. We ordered the fried chicken, smokehouse platter, chicken and dumplings, and grilled cheese and chicken tender kid meals. I really appreciated that Amanda told us the sides for the kid meals are large and sharable with the recommendation to get them different sides and they could share. Brilliant! Side-wise, we had carrots, creamed corn, mac and cheese, fried green tomatoes(4-5 slices! , and slaw. Our food came out less than 10 min after ordering. The chicken and dumplings meal was fine. The meat was tender, but I chomped down on a bone fragment that sneakily blended in with the gravy. The gravy itself was lukewarm and needed some seasonings other than salt for depth of flavor. My parents were not a fan of that dish and said that the dumplings had no chew/texture. My dad really liked his fried chicken and said it was hot and the breading well-seasoned. My stepmom really liked the pulled pork but thought the other two meats on her platter were chewy/fatty and not as tender as she had hoped, especially the ribs. We all loved the fried green tomatoes. They are a no-frills version (no toppings or sauces that are the perfect thickness and well-seasoned/fried. The other sides were admittedly just okay. The slaw was very raw onion-heavy, the mac isn't baked as we hoped and tasted like velveeta, and the corn and carrots were both undercooked and hard and needed seasoning. The biscuits and complimentary potato soup were both excellent. We all said we would come back but next time for brunch, which looks incredible. Crossing fingers we would get Amanda again. She was wonderful!
Oh my golly, Miss Dolly!! This Sevierville local restaurant is our new must stop when visiting the Pigeon Forge area. We eat out a lot and love southern home cooking. We especially love when a restaurant and chef stick to the tried and true, but elevate it slightly. This is what happens at Five Oaks. First off, you'll notice the modern farmhouse vibe. Rustic, yet updated decor makes this place casual and classy all at once. Our server was delightful and shared her honest opinion of the food and other restaurants owned by the same family. I always love that in a server. Now for the food. I ordered the meatloaf which is served over mashed potatoes, and I got a side of the stuffed tomato casserole. Y'all. It was all amazing, and I love my mama's meatloaf. My husband ordered the chicken dumpling platter. When I say it was a big bowl, I mean it. Was. A. Big. Bowl. Enough for 2 or 3 people. And best of all it was seasoned to perfection t. If you're someone who goes to Cracker Barrel for chicken dumplings, these will make you forget all about theirs. Lol. Desserts the banana pudding is fantastic, but if you want something you can't get anywhere else, get the deep fried cinnamon roll. Either prepare to take most of it home or order one for your table (of 4 6! We will be back!! Maybe tomorrow for breakfast!
EXCELLENT food, excellent service, and excellent atmosphere!! WILL DEFINITELY return!! However the peach cobbler was not too great but overall the experience was amazing. 5 stars!
