The Fox Goes Free - Pickering

We've never been disappointed with The Fox especially with the chef of the last few years. I can count on my husband to order Wings while I order the Liver Onions dish. That way we're both happy and fully satisfied. Their special Oyster night is a treat too. Very friendly place with pleasant waitresses. It can get noisy by one person wrecking the peace and quiet with a loud voice! Similar to most restaurants. The patio is comfortable in the summer. (Obviously not in the winter!

Doesn't matter what you order all is good. Their beyond the meat burger is the best veggie burger I have tasted. My husband loved the beef pie with puff pastry. I have had the chicken wrap again all wonderful. Joanne the manager is so warm and friendly. I would recommend anyone try it out.

But, they should pay more attention to glasses and cutlery very bad. Service to single women was non existent. More involved in the men. Had to ask her to come over for my bill. Same with other female single patrons. Silly girl, single women do tip well when receive good service.

A great place to hang out after work , have couple of drinks and the food was delicious. The portions were large and the service was fast. The best part was the soup of the day which was a suprise to me as it was the best soup I had did not expect that in a laid back pub setting).

Seems the absentee owners don’t seem to care about the place so why would I bother spending my time and money in a place like that! The place needs a complete overhaul let alone just a good vacuuming!! It’s tired, run down and dirty. A couple of staff shouldn’t be working in the service industry! Definitely not a place I’d be recommending!!
