Jerry's Drive In - Pensacola

My grandmother came here for the burgers and they’re still pretty damn good. The pimento cheese was also better than I expected. Kid’s grouper fingers were 5*. Service wasn’t great, high school kid. The portions were small, especially the pimento. The hot roast beef sandwich was like lunch meat cooked on a flat grill (not boar’s head either lol). It was hard, stiff, and honestly the worst damn sandwich I’ve ever tasted. I love the feel of this place. The atmosphere is nostalgic, reflecting its place in Pensacola history. The cook bringing out the food with a big smile was an added touch.

Stopped into this historic restaurant. It was at lunch time and they were typically busy. However, the service was a little slow getting to our order. However, when that order came out it was exactly what we wanted and they were super friendly. The the blue bacon burger was very good. Portions were a little small. I might come back again and give her another shot. Maybe when they're less busy. But definitely a good middle of the road diner for a quick bite

Just picked up our usual favorite fish chowder with a side of rice. Boy were we disappointed. We received half of the usual order, watered down chowder. Maybe 2 tbsp. of cold white rice. We’ve been eating at Jerry’s for over 40 years. Might have to really think about it before we go again. What a shame.

The food was decent at best. The mullet was fresh but the shrimp tasted like they came per-breaded in a box! One of our meals was 20% higher than the menu price and the other meal was 12% higher than the listed menu price. No one tells you about the increase! I would have been fine if it was respectfully mentioned to us which is absolutely necessary when charging customers for anything! I mentioned it to our waitress who was also the cashier when I was paying the bill and she said “oh I keep telling them to fix the menu” I said you should tell the customers about the price change prior to ordering- she then ignored me gave me my change and said have a nice evening. Completely unprofessional for a restaurant to serve a menu with fictitious prices especially with no warning to the customer! Unbelievable! It was dead in there to on a Saturday night… hmmmm.

Edit: Some people gave Jerry's drive in a hard time about it new order style and updated restaurant. Personally, I think they keep up with the times and try to make it easier for everyone. Can't wait to come back almost once a week at this point. Always impressed by this place. If you need breakfast and you can still order the whole menu. Breakfast ends at 11:00. Beer is also cheap! We drive our bikes further into this local irrigation hole. This place is only cash, but they have an ATM near the door.
