Merle's American Tavern - Peculiar

We used to love Merle’s. However, it’s going downhill. They recently changed their menu, and no longer have baked potatoes. They charge an additional $3 for a side salad, when the cost difference is $1.50 between that and fries on the menu. When my salad came, it was browned and full of the hard parts that aren’t easily edible. (The salad was refunded. . Our waitress also didn’t seem like she wanted to be here.

It was a little after nine and the kitchen was already close even though the sign said opened until 1am.

The chicken gizzards are delicious. I had the catfish and chips, tender and tasty.

I had the Merle Burger. It was amazing but my daughter had the chicken strips. She said look bigger than my face.
