Chuy's - Pasadena

My family and I usually get Chuy’s twice a month and love it; however, today we are disappointed. We ordered the panchos nachos with chicken, but they were cold and stale. The rest of our food was fresh and warm, but I could tell these nachos were old and not fresh. Just bad quality of food.

I really enjoy the outdoor patio here. When I came, I had the shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. The corn tortillas seem handmade, and I know from previous experience that the flour tortillas are great. I love the jalapeño ranch they serve with the chips! Personally, the shrimp was too battered for my liking. I was expecting grilled shrimp (I think they had a blackened shrimp taco once upon a time, which is what I was hoping for . The server did let me know beforehand that they were battered, but I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Our server was very nice, but to be honest, we didn't get too much service sitting outside. I don't blame the server because I think she was juggling tables deep inside the restaurant plus ours. I do wish they updated their system a little to ensure outdoor tables are also getting adequate service. (To be fair, they are not the only restaurant I've been to that doesn't have staff checking on outdoor patrons more regularly.

Tried Chuy’s for the first time and it was a great lunch! They can give free chips with salsa and their unique ranch sauce which was interesting and pretty good. We ordered the “Chuychanga” with Boom-Boom sauce and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend Chuy’s for anyone looking for flavorful Tex-Mex.

Ive been wanting to try this place for a while now. The food is just not good. But the service is excellent. The manager tried to make my order right, although the new order was hot, not cold like the 1st food brought out, it still didn't have a very good flavor. My 2 year old grandsons burger was medium done, fine for me but not for a 2 year old. He replaced it with chicken strips which were good. 5 stars for service. 1 star for the food. Will not return, because I didn't like the food.
