Bidrage med feedbackTo be fair, the food is good. I mean, is averagely good and with nice touches that make it a bit special in the area. You know how I always start with this story that serves as a support to my review? Well, there´s one here, only I wanted to start with the general Idea because I think it is important in this case, especially since I heard so much about this precise spot since months and months ago, such buzz. I have always been a fan of salads and light stuff, I would eat vegetarian forever, for real, as long as is a chunky fulfilling veggie dish, I actually celebrate being vegetarian and I am seriously thinking in becoming one and only break my vegetarian oath in thanksgiving, when I have to eat my big share of turkey breast with its corresponding bucket of cranberry sauce and stuff; the rest of the thanksgiving meal is all veggie so, nothing to be worry about there. I would be an ovo-lacto-vegeterian, there´s no way I can become a vegan, that´s hard and I like my scramble eggs and my super delicious cheddar every once in a while. When it comes to visiting a restaurant for the first time, I go without any expectation but with an open heart, that way, disappointment is very unlikely and chances are I will perceive the concept and taste more accurately, you know, without all these dreams of how the taste and experience will be, as complicated as it is, I just try to keep objective in the subjectivity of taste and flavors (someone may like something and someone else may hate it, you know what I men? . So, I went to Twenty Peas with a blank page in my mind and soul. As soon as I got there I liked the place, the atmosphere was nice and classy, but still cool and with a nice twist of french province reality, only a hint though. We got our table down the stairs and got our menus. Everything very OK tip there. Then the service, not an ugly unkind waiter, but a sort-of-indifferent-but-kind-of-nice-only-super-slow waitress (although I have to say that I prefer this waitress a hundred times more, than your typical super grumpy french waiter , it was fine, because since I´m very realistic, i keep in mind that the impatience is directly proportional to the hunger, that day I was starving, maybe she wasn´t as slow, it was that my hunger made me perceive her like that, to be fair, and I´m very fair. They offer a fairly good array of salads, they are very fresh and look very good, as well as the sandwiches and wraps. Also, they have protein options, that day was fish or chicken breast. They offer three sizes, we ordered the medium platter, one protein and two salads. I got the gnocchi salad and the potatoes with chives and I dunno what else, as protein it was the chicken with a pesto sauce, very good. My partner had a romaine lettuce salad and the gnocchi one. Carrot cake and cheese cake for dessert with our jug of water than you very much. To be perfectly honest, not bad at all, not at all; not the best salads or chicken or anything, probably except for the cheesecake, that was special, I would totally have a whole thing for me, I would eat it in 10 minutes for sure, not the piece, the whole cheesecake I mean. Bomer? they were giving the bread by slices, by slices... not a lot of them, one slice per person. Oh, and the amount of food. I barely felt that I ate thanks to dessert and that I asked for a refill to the jug of water like 7 times, but when I went out of the restaurant, I ran into Marks Spencers a couple of blocks away, got in and bought myself something else to make me feel a bit more satisfied. I qualified this restaurant average because it´s pretty average, I mean, very uneventful, nothing out of the box. To be super fair, salads and food in general is pretty ok, but nothing memorable... Like the Tuk Tuk Thai restaurant that´s 3 minutes away by foot from there, that´s even more affordable and they give you a more substantial amount of food. Value it´s pretty normal and maybe a bit expensive for the amount of food, I would say it´s average because it compensates with the quality, the best ingredients in the market probably. So, a mellow place with a nice atmosphere and good food that will probably leave you hungry because although the food is pretty fine, the amounts are not enough for a normal person. I know I could have ordered the large platter, one protein and three salads, but imagine, if we already paid 40 euros for an OK meal in medium size, the large size would have been 50 euros and you know you can get more food in other good restaurants for that money, sorry, no value money deal here. Go here if you´re on a diet or on a very casual first date (I always eat like a bird on the first dates, only after the fifth and when we already went to bed together and his sorta hooked on me I would leave the Foodie on me out of the refrigerator... No closet here and make sure you don´t eat your tiny little slice of bread right away, because you may get a second one, but definitely not a third one. Who would have thought in the country of bread and cheese, right??
Tasty and innovative. good food, but limited hot options, more based on cold salads. however the quantity served has been reduced
A nice cafe that filled up very quickly during lunch time. There was an array of fresh salads to choose from, and some very affordable deals (salad pie, etc). I had the quinoa salad with salmon pie nutritious and delicious. The waiter was nice, but we did have to pay at the counter (and in doing so, awkwardly push into the line where people were ordering takeaway salads). Overall, a good experience.
A restaurant where you feel good. Everything is good, fresh, varied... and pastries: a simple massacre. In addition, the staff is really nice. I have lunch every time with pleasure.
Delicious and inventive! First successful visit that makes me want to come back.
