Bidrage med feedbackAmazing place to have really cool looking drinks. Even locals go there! The ambiance is beautiful, peaceful , and the beautiful drinks even make it better
Popped in on the way to their Chinese restaurant but didn’t linger as there wasn’t an ounce of buzz in the place, would rather watch paint dry !
We stopped for a couple of cocktails after dinner and loved the ambiance of the bar. It was a Sunday night so it wasn't very crowded. We were welcomed warmly by the bartender who took time to ask what we liked and prepared a custom gin cocktail for me with wonderful botanicals. The cocktails are quite pricey but delicious.
We stayed at the Shangri La in Paris in July and had an amazing time. When we weren't doing the tourist circuit, we opted to stay in the magnificent hotel at have cocktails at Le Bar. We traveled with our scrabble game (lame we know) and meekishly asked if we could play a game at one of the tables. The bartender and staff were not only ok with it but were actually interested in who was winning (i lost). Their acceptance and charm enhanced our experience at the hotel. From a practical perspective, Le Bar is chic and simply glamorous in its decor and cocktails. I recommend the La Vie en Rose cocktail which soothed my ego me after my scrabble defeat!
We went there with friends for some casual tea/coffee/dessert in the middle of the day. The service was awful from the very beginning. We were given menu after some 15minutes of waiting and the order was taken after 30minutes of arrival - great star for a supposedly "best hotel in Paris"... We were also notified that because it was not 3PM, half of the menu is not available. Hot beverages started arriving after 20 minutes of ordering them (there were only 3 tables taken at the moment) and because of this tremendous speed it arrived in dirty cups... Wine continued soon after (glasses were also dirty and stained, I assume because the service was so rushed to help us). As for the coffee itself, it was sour, undrinkable. The wait for the desserts continued up to 1 hour after ordering them... When they finally arrived, they were served with the pieces of paper that are used for easy storage but are meant to be removed before service. By the consistence of my dessert, I could see the pastry is made in the morning, maybe even on a different day, Hence, we were puzzled by the limited choice in a given timeframe. In the end, the desserts were refunded, because of the wait. Nonetheless, I cannot recommend this place to anyone, as it reflects a complete lack of respect for a customer. In Paris there are 7 other "Palace" status hotels with a wide range of restaurants and lounges, hence, luckily we have other places to hang out in style.
