Vino Locale - Palo Alto

The staff at Vino Locale is exceptional! You can tell that they put a lot of effort into making the place as welcoming as possible. The addition of live music on Saturday night was a nice touch. The wine cocktails are a great idea, with a special recommendation for the sexy soju drink. The wine list is extensive, catering to all types of wine drinkers. However, I found the food choices to be slightly confusing and eclectic. I was disappointed to find that the samosas and empanadas were microwaved, which was off-putting. Despite this, everything else was freshly prepared. If they were to shorten their tapas starter list, the restaurant would truly shine. The menu lacks clarity and shortcuts are taken to serve the food quickly. It's a shame because they have great potential, with wonderful staff and an impressive back patio. Lastly, I was disappointed to be seated at a high table by the wall, surrounded by plants, when the restaurant was half empty.

The atmosphere here is fantastic. The service is excellent. Definitely recommend trying the sweet grilled cheese and the eggplant.

I highly recommend making a reservation and bringing along some insect repellent when dining at this restaurant. It is one of the few places in the Bay Area where bugs can be a problem, but the experience is definitely worth it. The atmosphere is fantastic with live music and a relaxed vibe. It feels more like hanging out in a friend's backyard than dining out. So don't forget your bug spray, grab some delicious appetizers, and enjoy a flight of drinks.

Vino Locale is definitely a very nice restaurant with a great selection of local wines as well as from the rest of the world. On the menu they offer tapas and a great selection of full courses. As an added benefit you can choose between a small but ample amount of wine. They offer a tasting menu so you may choose the wine that best suits your meal. We had a cheese and charcuterie board which we found to be delicious. This is a lovely restaurant with tables on the front outside, inside and outside on the backyard. We enjoyed having our dinner on the backyard with live guitar music. The staff was also nice and very welcoming. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!

Please, everyone, get off of University Avenue and find this amazing spot just around the corner! Indoor, outdoor, you choose. Housed in a classic home, you can find a quiet spot out front or in the back, inside by the bar (if you're lucky) or in one of the rooms. Super location. GREAT people all around: the staff in the front of the house and behind the scenes, the owner and the folks who consider this their regular spot. All reasons you'll be happy to have found this amazing local treasure. We haven't had the pleasure yet, but we are told they even have live music out back when the weather is nice. An amazing little oasis just off of the beaten path. If you've been in town long enough to remember Zibibbo's (which we still miss), this place is across the street from their original entrance on Kipling. No idea why it took us so long to find this special place, but we have now and we'll keep coming back. They even have a happy hour! If Happy Hour timing doesn't work for you, don't worry. This is a place where you'll want to become a regular, meet and bring friends, or just go on your own! All versions of getting out of your home fit well in some nook or cranny of Vino Locale. This lovely wine bar and restaurant has become one of our new favorite places.
