Bidrage med feedbackExcellent as always. We have been there at least 10 times in the past few months and will be back!
Food was very good. Server was pleasant. Menu was very hard to follow, all four of us agreed. Kitchen excruciatingly slow.
Great food at good prices. I guess that the only drawback was the disconnected service between the kitchen and bar. We ordered cocktails, waited for 20 minutes, then our food arrived. We asked the waiter to take it back until the cocktails arrived. They arrived about 5 minutes later and the rest of the evening went well. The owner said that the barman was swamped , but it didn 't look that way to me.
The front of the house staff asked if we had a reservation on line and when we said “yes” just could not figure what to do... a second person came up to help her and was equally confused. By then our table was ready and the 5 of sat down while remarking how strange that was. Our food was good and the service was equally good. The restaurant is a little dirty, worn, and needing repair. Then we paid our $180.00 bill and left. Shortly after I got a nasty email from Opentable accusing me of not showing up for our reservation! Was it because the hostess and manager are inept or trying to get around paying the fee to Opentable? The restaurants actions put a sour taste in our mouths after a good meal...
Viet and fusion eateries are speedily springing up in Palm Springs. A good thing too. We have visited a couple of excellent ones nearby and had high hopes for this one. The decor is pleasant but the food is dismal. There were as many staff as customers when we were there which meant even worse service as each thought the other was attending. We were asked four times if everything was OK. Nice of the waiter to be concerned but there would have been no point in saying that the food was ugly. The menu is also very confused and, with other high-end competition in this food concept, they need to up their game. Ideally, the Rooster Pig should take over this place as there is more space so foodie fans would get more easily accommodated and as for Watercress...well, someone needs to scoop it out the swamp and dress it mroe flavorfully.
