Trattoria Da Calogero - PALERMO

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, my wife and I made 7:00 PM reservations for Trattoria da Franco on a Friday evening. When we travel in a foreign country, we do not expect American standards, we love experiencing different cultures and rather enjoy them. E.g., we've learned to love have a slow enjoyable dinner. When we arrived at 7:00 PM, the restaurant was empty and were asked to return in 15 minutes. We spent a few minutes watching the children play at the nearby arcade, then returned promptly at 7:15. At this time, there were a few diners seated in the outdoor terrace, but many tables were still available. We were ushered into the the indoor dining area with the kitchen at one end . . . where we sat for 25 minutes without once being approached. This area was vacant except for a German family that was seated next to us. They, too, did not receive any service. Meanwhile, we could view the terrace through the glass paneled French doors and diners were being seated and being serviced (water, bread, wine, menus, etc. . Finally, we were brought water and bread. After waiting another 10 minutes without any more service, we left the restaurant. It's clear that if you're not Italian, you are not a priority. Expect to be shuffled into the kitchen area and wait, and wait, and wait. Very poor form Trattoria da Franco.

Best sea food restaurant so far in Palermo area. Fresh seafood, prepared by the owner and soons (I supposed so ; with care and love. Highly recommend.

Amazing cozy restaurants in Mondello. The food was excellent, super fresh seafood and good variety of items in the menu.

Trattoria meravigliosa. Staff eccezionale ed accogliente. Prodotti di qualità pescato ,cucinato e mangiato. Mi sono sentito a casa anche da parte dei gestori del ristorante e degli chef in cucina. Non ho messo foto perché sono andato con il telefono scarico è la signora è stata gentilissima da farmelo caricare. E poi signori miei ero intento a mangiare prelibatezze squisitamente eccellenti ve lo garantisco. Provare x credere. Prezzi accessibili e poi chi conosce la cucina è la qualità non guarda i prezzi.

Pesce freschissimo e piatti squisiti. I gamberi rossi marinati una vera delizia!
