We used a warm Saturday evening for a country party and visited the Greek restaurant Hermes in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Sandhausen district. That's pretty jwd. On the homepage [here link] the host gives himself the subtitle of the gourmet Greek, which sounds quite self-confident, but perhaps is only the expression of hybris? That's what we're gonna do. You don't encounter a gourmet temple at least structurally. More suitable for the area, the restaurant is housed in an old, sheltered farmhouse and the covered outdoor area reminds of size and solidity of a farmer's remnant to park agricultural equipment. So rustic. The restaurant serves a kind of basic care for the rural population. Those who simply want to spy Gyros and Tsatsiki in good quality will be satisfied in Hermes. The covered terrace was well visited. Mostly older couples had found themselves. The price-performance ratio is 3.5 stars. In my Greek ranking, the Hermes will grow a meal twice in the solid midfield, PLV simply weighted, with the same number of points one rank is awarded several times : 1. To Greek, Bremen-Walle: 4,33 2. Orpheas, Burg-Grambke: 4.17 3. Kalymnos, Burg-Grambke: 3,91 4. Meos, Lehesterdeich: 3,83 4. Poseidon, Gröpelingen: 3,83 4. Symposio, Neustadt: 3,83 5. One of the women was responsible for the Gröbere, the other took the food order. She recorded, but seemed a bit absent. Our desire to get the wine leaves served without sauce, went into the pants, but was corrected. The waiting request between the corridors probably came as an unusual request, but was considered several times the demand . We felt the waiting times as acceptable. We have experienced a slight kindness and also a question whether it would have convened. But also shirt sleeve: Our desire for a pepper mill was only met with simple strays without further comment, only later came the mill. Extra plates to the three appetizers were not brought. This remains in the three-star area. The beverage prices are not provincial: 0.3 l Herforder are on the map with €2.50, the bottle of mineral water 0.75 l with € 4.80 and the very few open wines start at € 3.80 for the Retsina district and € 3.90 for a red house wine. The retsina was well cooled but had only a very weakly pronounced resin note. There was an ouzo to greet the house. Food: The map on the homepage without prices is not identical to the restaurant map. On this site there was a page with oven dishes of lamb, €12.90 each, which does not exist on the Internet. Conversely, the lamb plate with mixed barbecues can only be found on the internet map. The offer is very reduced. Appetizer classics such as Taramas, Melitzanosalata, Chtipiti, Skordalia or Oktopus are not offered in Hermes. Our choice fell on Tsatsiki 3,50 €, the homemade wine leaves 6,20 €, the baked thick beans 5,50 € and the garlic bread Pita, 2,20 €. It's all tasted. What my constant companion missed was a bit of salt on the warm pitabrot. The three thick, irregular wine leaves were homemade only from sight and filled with minced meat and rice. A good change to the otherwise rich industrial goods. The supplement salads for me also made good. Convincing then the juicy, well-grilled five lamb chops €15.50 and also my Apollo plate with two frying Zuzuki and Gyros €11.90 . The chopped well seasoned and loose and the gyros cherry and very lean. The gourmet cuisine thus became a solid Greek home cooking, which is rewarded with 3.75 stars. Ambience: In the interior you will find a spacious guest room with typical room dividers, many plants and some decorative snack. There is enough space at the tables and in between. When entering, a slightly muffy smell was to be heard immediately. This can not be attributable to old walls, because the space has been cultivated. In the fresh air there is a large covered area. A high and solid wooden roofing open to the sides protects the guests who take a seat on and on a furniture collection. It ranges from rustic wooden boards to simple plastic tables and chairs. Seat rests are taken from a container or from free chairs or benches. In addition to the construction, the fire extinguisher of sand shadows, which did not cause an insect problem. In the background the traffic on the B 74 is out, without disturbing too much. Light Greek percussion music otherwise penetrates the ear. Cleanliness: Our plastic table deserves a more thorough wiping. Crumbs did not exist on the surface, but a red wine spot was still visible. A wooden table, on which we first drove, was crumbled and did not invite to dinner from the wooden look. The men's toilet was fresh, clean and insect-free, which is not self-evident in the country.
