Bidrage med feedbackWe had a great experience at this restaurant with friendly waitstaff, delicious food at an affordable price, and a wide selection of quality wines. Despite not having a reservation and the restaurant being quite full, we were seated on the first floor which suited us well as it was less crowded. The attentive service of the waitstaff was not affected by the busy atmosphere. Our main courses arrived promptly within 15 minutes, considering the number of diners. The portions were generous and tasty, leaving no room for dessert, although we would have liked to try some. Overall, it was a visit that was worth the money and we definitely plan on returning.
Avoid GU LOU YUK at all costs unless you enjoy eating rubbery food. Impossible to chew. Each chef has their own favorite dish, so I asked the waiter for a recommendation. Without hesitation, she suggested GU LOU YUK. I regret ordering it. It was inedible and seemed like they were trying to get rid of leftover portions. The restaurant had typical Asian decor, was clean, and had nicely set tables. The waiter was friendly and the prices were reasonable. Despite being busy, I can't help but wonder if I was just unlucky. All I know is I'm feeling sick from the experience. It will be a while before I consider going back there, if ever.
I am very sorry about the money I have spent there and even more to say so. I really do not enjoy giving bad evaluations but this has to be one. Good thing: very centrally located close to Karl Johans Gate. But: food was horrible and service somewhat unfriendly. We had the wanton soup which was just of almost no taste but 129nok which in my opinion then is far too pricey. We also took the Edelman’s which were totally over cooked and the tempura prawns which were the most horrible tempura prawns I ever had (only oily no crisp). Together with one beer we payed over 650nok and I really felt bad about it. I am sorry but I’d never go again as you can eat the same quality much cheaper even in Oslo.
I ordered some rice and beef. It was amazing. There was excellent help on hand by the way of “Anna”. She recommended perfect wine and dishes. She was also very friendly and helpful in a memorable way! I would recommend visiting and make sure to ask for Anna! :
Nice service (but if they had have payed a little bit more attention to our table, they would have sold more wine..! og good food. The tables are very close to each other, and it felt like we could'nt talk without hearing our nabours. Very central location, right by Nationaltheateret station. Many of the dishes include shrimps in different variations, my husband has an allergy and it limited the menu quite a bit.
