Bidrage med feedbackI waited a long time to dine here. The French onion soup was divine and the rest of my meal was just as good. It was paired with an old fashioned. I only wish I had had room for dessert!
Very nice place for dinner and a cocktail. Fully stocked bar and food is top notch. The servers and staff are welcoming and attentive to all your needs. Took my grandma and had a great time. The atmosphere gives off an Italian cozy restaurant, very charming! Recommend the scallop stir fry, French dip and of course their cheese curds made with sharp white cheddar. The best cheese curds in Wisconsin some say! The old brick building, cozy booths and cocktails are the perfect combination for a great dinner.
First let me say that I am a regular at The Roxy, I have been for years. Sadly I will seriously think about returning after last night?s meal. My wife and I sat at the bar to eat on a busy Friday night, my steak and fried onions were great at usual. The shock came when my son ate my leftovers late Friday evening, in the fried onions was a rose gold, dime sized nose ring! Our waitress as we remembered did gave a lot of facial piercings, don?t know if she or someone in the kitchen list it, I called The Roxy, they said they would talk to the waitress and the kitchen staff, but otherwise they where very unapologetic. I am sorry but in this time of high restaurant prices, inflation and lack of restaurant workers restaurants must strive to keep their standards high. Maybe a ban on piercings is not a bad idea when you are preparing and serving food. I am shocked to think how the nose ring became dislodged and in my food.
This is a very large supper club. The bar area was very large and totally packed when I walked in at 5pm on a Wednesday. Once I found the hostess station, I was happily greeted and was asked if I wanted to be seated right away and I said I did. She took me to a dining room that was down a hall. After I was seated, I was greeted by my server. She was very attentive and helpful. I ordered the Early Bird Prime Rib and was very happy I did. I ordered medium rare, and it was perfect and very tender. The portion for the special was not small, it was what I would consider a normal size cut. The accompanying au jus was very flavorful and complimentary to the taste of the meat. I ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes for my side, and I was glad I did. They were homemade with some of the skin left, but not too much. There was a good flavor of garlic, and it was very tasty. I forgot to mention that my meal also came with soup or salad, and I ordered the Chicken Dumpling soup, it was excellent. The broth was very tasty and flavorful and the dumplings good as well, you can tell that it was homemade, very fresh. I can see why it is a favorite there. Overall, this place is really nice. The menu is large, and you should be able to find something for everyone. One thing to note, it is a VERY busy place.
The Roxy was the perfect spot for a Thanksgiving eve feast in Oshkosh, our first visit to this community. We arrived on the early side, took seats at the bar, and were warmly welcomed by bartenders Lucas and Alex. After cocktails--Alex makes a great brandy old fashioned, Lucas is equally good at martinis--we ordered an appetizer and our entrees from gracious Jade. My wife's broiled walleye and my prime rib were delicious as were the garlic mashed potatoes. Alas, given the portion sizes there was no room for dessert. Good food, warm hospitality, super reasonable prices--what's not to like?
