Gil's Grill - Orleans

Terrible horrible gross. We just paid $92 for dinner, after they removed the rotten salads from our bill. The beer taps were swapped pouring something malty instead of fiddlehead. Our med-well burgers were bleeding. The shrimp was clearly freezer burned. The cucumbers were slimy. French fries cold. Potato skins had raw bacon chunks. The fresh brewed tea was anything but. I just can't imagine cooks sending this food out. And our waitress couldn't care less. 30 minutes to order. Another 30 until apps came out. We've been coming here every summer for years and this was terrible and I suspect we will all barf. Not kidding at all.

I haven't been to Gil's for awhile. What was I thinking? I have missed out on some great food!

Usually go here for dinner every year for my birthday. This was my first year that I was truly dissatisfied. My party and I ordered drinks from the bar and they had absolutely no alcohol in them. They were straight mixer. The bartender, then, gave us sass when we ordered shots to put in our drinks and gave us ugly glances for the rest of our evening.

My husband used to work here years ago. We had dinner there last night. They have a nice bread and cheese station. Be careful, you may get filled just from that. I had the chili and it was perfect. I say perfect because I'm a cook and I make a mean chili. This was out of this world. My husband had the filet and he raved about it. The waitress was very nice and attentive to our 4 year old.

Gil’s is always wonderful! We live on the lake, and are thankful it is so close. View is superb. 3 of us dined there again last week. Sarah, our server, was delightful. Fish, pasta special, and salad with salmon were all outstanding. Gil even had Heady Topper!
