Mcalister's Deli - Omaha

Clean. good service. fast. delicious. gurken and tomatensalat didn't taste well, but everything else was delicious. the tortilla soup is creamy and very different from what it should be, but quite a lot to expect from a sandwich shop.

Lunch was very good. Soup and salad are nice portions. The 1/2 chicken salad was enough solo!

I had the Italian sandwich with the mac and cheese for the side. The sandwich was good but got soggy and got to room temperature fast with all of the toppings and oils. I would recommend getting the toppings on the side for takeout orders. The mac and cheese was good. Everything was a bit pricey but not too bad. I could hardly understand the kid that was taking my order and saw a lot of employees standing around doing nothing. Customers think about things like that when we pay $11.00 for a sandwich and side that cost just a couple of dollars to make. I'll try again in the fall.

6/11/2022 Stopped by to collect my birthday cookie and had the Ham Cheese melt with potato salad. The food was good and the cashier was really cute. We've been treated well over the last couple of years. Plus one star 5/19/2020 This was my first time here. I don't usually go to places like this, but my wife wanted to go so guess what, we went. : They have a nice selection of deli type fare, most of which didn't appeal to me, but I finally settled on the Ham and Cheese Melt, fruit cup, and an ice tea. We eat out a lot and I don't like getting in behind people, like me, that aren't familiar with the menu, but there wasn't anyone behind us so that was good. The cashier was very patient with our indecision. Anyway, the Ham and Cheese Melt was actually good, so if we go back that’ll probably be what I get. The prices are what I would consider a good value, the facility was clean, the staff, as I’ve already alluded to, is helpful and friendly. The location is easy to get to and get out of. My wife didn’t want me to give a bad rating because she knows I wasn't excited about going here. I try to be fair but all of my reviews are colored by my preferences. I did ask my wife how she’d rate the place if she was rating it. She say’s it’s a solid 4 or maybe five stars. But she doesn’t do reviews. Since I’m the reviewer I go with what I prefer. But, if you like salads and fancy sandwiches at decent prices I’ll bet you’ll like this place so you should give it a try.

The food was ok, and the service was good. We had the spicy southwest chicken and Angus beef sandwich. I did like the southwest chicken much better, but for the portion and sides that it came with, it was a bit expensive. Among other deli’s I have been to, they had the more remodeled seating area, which was nice. It was probably my first and last time dinning with them due the quality and cost.
