Yris Kafe - Olden

Charming family run cafe, very hard working and friendly staff and beautiful views of the fjord! Get the chocolate waffle, it is to die for! Will definitely come back next time I’m in Olden!

Nice place to stop by the fjord and local shops for refreshments. One local beer on draft and a good range of other beverages. Outside seating area was a bit over crowded with seating crammed in. Pleasant hard working staff

A winter trip to Norway meant icy roads and not much to do except ski...so we ended up at an empty cafe and the lady was surprised to see tourists! Turns out she is Danish and kinda hated Norway. Funny

Maybe unfair to judge a cute cafe in a small quiet town as part of an influx of a couple of thousand cruise tourists descends. It’s obviously a pretty place but it really struggled (understandably) to cope. Big queues, slow service and squashed seating (in a lovely garden). Would like to try another time but doubt I will get the chance, so just an average mark because I’m sure it’s better than we experienced.

Stopped in for a quick coffee and a waffle after a walk around the town. Both coffee and waffle were good and the staff friendly. After leaving I noticed I'd lost my camera, rang the restaurant and left a message. They returned my call within 5 minutes and had found the camera, which they held for me. An honest and friendly place.
