Gummenalp - Ober Wissiflüeli

Restaurant Gummenalp over Wirzweli is the most beautiful, friendly place to relax and enjoy good traditional Swiss cuisine with excellent service. It takes 2 cable cars from Dallenwil and a short walk to get there, but it's worth it! Great! We come back year after year.

I have been in Switzerland many times, but that was the first time I was in Wiesenberg and the Gummenalp Restuarant. It is very popular among locals, but not one on the list for normal visitors in Switzerland, which is a shame as it is beautiful and very family-friendly. We visited a sunny Sunday and the area was full of hikers and families on days. The Gummenalp Restaurant has a beautiful mountain top that offers a magnificent view around. Four of us stopped for lunch, the waitress was brilliant, very friendly and looked good around her guests without being intrusive. The service was very fast, surprising as it was busy. The food portions were very good and the food itself was a very high standard. Two of us had the lunch of the day that in a cream sauce with chips and salad it was beautiful and the meat was extremely tender. The mixed salad I chose was beautiful, with a good selection and very fresh. The ice dessert I chose was amazing, coffee, chocolate and tiramisu not usually an ice cream fan, but that was nice. The cook came out to see all his diners what was a nice touch. All four of our meals were excellent and the next time I visit Switzerland, this place is to be visited on my list. We ate outside, but the interior of the restaurant is beautiful and toilets immaculate.

Fine eating, friendly service, beautiful playground. and then you can start the hot way perfectly!

Well maintained double rooms with very nice, good-bourgeois restaurant with friendly service.If we could recommend great.Single minus point: the 4 brot discs for our picnic the next day you would not have had to add to the overnight costs (fr. -.60 per disc.)
