Criterion - Oamaru

Staff where great. With what experience they had I was empressed. We waited an hour and 15 for our starters. This wasn't an unexpected wait due to opening. Totally annoyed that the owner didn't realize and except her mistake that she was short staffed. Due to her experience in the industry I would have thought she would have understood. We were told we would get a discount which never happened.

During the last month we had a holiday on the South Island, we were able to celebrate a birthday party with friends in the newly opened statement. we all had a fantastic night. the service was great and eating was even better. hubby and I shared the beef wellington, which was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty! friends had the common lamb dish they also loved. as for dessert was the baked whitestone mt domett brie unrealistic! also recommend home care.

An incredible place to eat. we have this huge plate and it was incredible. great, friendly service, fantastic wine selection and a beautiful character building.

We dropped in and was greeted with smiles and a friendly atmosphere. Great music and service. Stayed for a meal of Steak and fish’n’chips which was perfect. Customer service was excellent. Highly recommended.

A very nice venue with atmosphere and charm. We enjoyed a drink in the late afternoon and booked to go back for a meal the same evening. I had the waygu burger whilst my partner had a pasta dish which arrived cold. A fresh dish was prepared and served and it was good though our dining experience was thrown out of kilter by this. When asked about our experience after the meal I stated we were disappointed. The response was ‘these things happen as human beings work in the kitchen and we quickly made a fresh meal’. Fair enough but it shouldn’t be difficult to present a hot pasta dish. The waiting staff were attentive and efficient and the venue is nice but we won’t be going back.
