Bidrage med feedbackI've been at Fly three times already (we just moved to Tampa in Aug from NY), and we already decided that this is our favorite local restaurant. I did not take pictures of all the things we ate in our visits, but I assure you that everything isoutstanding. The drinks are seriously and beautifully crafted. My husband tried several of them; I got stuck with Freddie'sdead, because it is delicious and so well done. The things we eat from the menu are: egg rolls (amazing), tuna tonkatsu bao buns(great), beef slides (delicious), tacos al pastor (the right spice and flavor), shrimp dumplings (wow, outstanding), mac andcheese (great), shrimp and crab dip (it was a special, and we wished they would keep it permanently, because it was justexquisitely good), chorizo-spiced salmon (absolutely excellent) and ALWAYS the duck confit because it is amazing, tasty, withthe wild rice and we always, always order it. In our first visit, chef Mahlon Randolph came to our table and talked to us, and Icould see that he really cared about his restaurant and its customers. That says a lot. ALL the hosts we had on these threevisits were perfect. This is a great bar and restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough. PLEASE GO TO FLY!
Beautiful place! The inside is so gorgeous. The staff was great. The tapas style smaller portions were great to try multiple things. Drinks were delicious but a bit expensive. Unfortunately our experience was definitely tainted because of the extremelyuncomfortable chairs at the high top tables. It was busy so we couldn't move to another low table and the bar was full. Overall,it was a fun experience.
I have been here few times since it?s so close to campus. We can walk across it?s that close. Service is always great. At times it?s hard to find space to sit for all of us but it?s manageable. I usually go there for drinks but this time I was hungry andwanted a quick bite so I got the rolls ans I was excited thinking it?s as good as their drinks. After the first bite I saw thehair in it and I wanted to vomit! Finding hair in food that?s absolutely a NOOO! I was really disgusted. The server took it offthe bill and apologized. I don?t know if I would want to eat there. Finding hair in my food is huge and I get grossed out easily
After the third postponement to another dark dining experience we had booked, our group decided to create the experience ourselves. First finding a venue that had an eclectic array of food options plus small plates allowing us to sample enough toprovoke our pallets. We made a reservations at flybar and at arrival informed our waitress Karina of our intent. We asked her ifshe would partake in our fun endeavor selecting popular food options (10 tapas with a dessert) and we would wear eye masks todetermine what they were. Initially Karina served our meals individually on each plate and once the kitchen heard of what wewere doing they indulged in our experience and took it to a whole new level, plating individual plates for each person. Shoutout to Karina, Exec. Chef Mahlon Randolph and the kitchen staff who made our dining experience more spectacular than we couldhave imagined. The food was delicious and the components of the dishes challenged our pallets to determine exactly what we wereeating without the sense of sight. It was such a great time. We will be back!
INCREDIBLE!I had no idea that Fly Bar Restaurant had such an elevated sophisticated menu. I was so impressed with the menu options and all the flavors that were in the dishes. And talk about a great happy hour deal; to be able to get the entire food menu for 1/2 off Tuesday-Saturday 4-6pm. The cocktails are great too! Definitely will be going back sooner than later!
