Bidrage med feedbackThe food at this restaurant was delicious and we all enjoyed every bite. There were two adults and two children in our party. We ordered two large portions of cod and chips, a child's portion of cod and chips, a child's portion of sausage and chips with mushy peas for a total of four. All of the dishes were tasty and the children even finished all of their meals. The restaurant was quiet and the service, while a bit slow, was satisfactory. The grandchildren wanted a sundae dessert, which was quite expensive at £6.50 each. The total bill, including the meals, three orange drinks, and a glass of water, came out to be £84.50, which was a bit of a shock. One of the grandchildren even jokingly said that we should have gone to McDonalds instead.
I’ve been using the Cods Scallops for years. Initially the Bramcote outlet, more recently and today the Mansfield Road outlet. Having found a table I placed my order with an operative who wasn’t the most knowledgeable or confident. I watched as the large takeaway queue disappeared and indoor customers who had arrived after me had their orders taken and their food served. Eventually I gave up and asked to speak with a manager only to be told there wasn’t one on duty. I cancelled my order and attempted to pay for my cup of tea. A surly young woman simply said “ don’t worry about it” but made no attempt to apologise. I won’t be back appalling service and even worse customer care!!
The lady behind the counter at the wollaton branch shouted eat in or take away as soon as we walked in. she wouldnt stamp our loyalty card. told me to move my pushchair because its a fire hazard and shoved past me to get to customers. she needs some serious customer service training. very rude, discurteous and down right disgusting really.
I went to this restaurant for lunch today for the first time. I ordered the plaice baked in garlic and lemon with salad and a side of baby potato salad. The meal was served quickly, but unfortunately, the plate was watery. The fish was undercooked and lacked flavor - there was barely any taste of garlic or fish. The only noticeable flavor was the lemon I added at the table. The salad was fresh but a bit bland, mostly consisting of leaves and cherry tomatoes. The potato salad was too cold to eat, so I sent it back and got chips instead, which were decent. Overall, this restaurant did not live up to its reputation as a fish restaurant and I would stick to their fish and chips next time.
Great fish n chips shop restaurant. sat in for an excellent steak n ale pie with gravy n chips a very pleasant surprise to find this place.
