Best and most authentic Indonesian food in Melbourne. Really warm hosts, a cozy non-pretentious neighbourhood atmosphere with high quality and tasty food.
Stumbled across this lovely little hidden gem and gave it a go. The service is fantastic, very attentive, quick and friendly. We decided to get the laksa, which was one of the best I've had in Melbourne. We also had the Ikan Pepe the fish was fresh and the sambal that went with it added a good zing. The restaurant also had a really nice buzz to it. We really enjoyed ourselves we'll definitely be back.
The food here is fantastic. It's really hard to find authentic indonesian food so we were really surprised with the quality they serve here. Everything tastes home made and presented elegantly. The steamed barramundi in banana leaf was a standout and it was refreshing to taste some delicious spring rolls again. Will be back to taste the rest. Quirky set up and BYO only.
I come from a city that has an annual international laksa festival.... well I'm calling it.... Yuni's Kitchen in Northcote is the best laksa I've ever had. Oh and the corn fritters were second to none delicious.
