Staying at the next hotel, it was a logical choice for lunch. When we arrived we notice the scenery of the restaurant that gives a warm atmosphere.Although our waitress is unilingual English, she made an effort to get out all the French words she knew. a attention we enjoyed. Lunch was hearty and tasty for an honest price.
Good breakfast, waitress nice, under staffed but waitress worked hard to keep wait times reasonable.
Try out this lovely and calm family restaurant. the soups and sandwiches are to die for and their desserts are a 10!
Our dinner plans crashed at the last minute when our restaurant in North Rustico had to close because of high kitchen temperatures.Finding a restaurant still open at 8 p.m in PEI is no easy task. Although Rachel's was supposed to close at 8:30, they were still admitting diners. However, there was an interminable wait to be seated, We had to ask for a beverage menu and selected a wine. " Oh,we haven"t been able to get that wine all summer"! Well, perhaps it should be removed from the list! Our adult son ordered the beef tenderloin. " Oh,sorry we're all out but strip loin is a better cut anyway"! NOT!After these initial hiccups, the rest was great. Our waitress was happy and outgoing. Food was VERY good. The crisp crusted bruschetta topped with diced tomatoes, onions and melted cheese resembled a personal pizza. The seafood chowder was exquisite- a rich creamy base full of shrimp, lobster, fish and scallops. The strip loin was perfectly grilled. A side of mushrooms was extra. The pan seared fish was atop a tasty citrus sauce. I loved the seafood casserole- scallops, shrimp, lobster and delicate salmon in a velvety Alfredo sauce topped with crusty cheese from the oven. NO complaints about the kitchen! To finish,we were unable to resist the chocolate pecan pie which turned into a taffy pull! A really decadent dessert!
