Bidrage med feedbackEating here is excellent. I have eaten at many Michelin stars in the bay area, but I would say that eating here hits many of the 2 star places. (and le séjour has zero star) we were thrilled by how such a small caffe on the street could be so good. so that we will come back to make sure that it was not just a happy meal. we literally came here during our short 4-day stay in nizza.
We shared foie gras as entree, had lobster risotto and fish as main dish and soufflé as dessert. Everything tastes so great! Foie gras is creamy and flavorful; fish is flavorful. Lobster risotto is the most popular dish in the restaurant, and is the best lobster dish I have ever tasted. My favorite, however, is the soufflé.
A small room with a Zen décor. a very pleasant reception and service. a formula 2 or 3 or 4 dishes with or without wine. . everything is well presented and with thousand flavors. Inventive kitchen. An interesting sommelier. wines are perfect with different dishes. an excellent address.
Place of exception! A cuisine in finesse and harmony of flavors! A rediscovery of South African cuisine allied to French gastronomy! Careful and high quality service! Only one question... why doesn't this establishment have the 2nd star? It would be amply deserved!
Here is a gastronomic gem not like the others, a wonderful heartfelt address to a stone jet from the port of nice, a place of mouth not to be missed under any pretext. I'm talking about the jan restaurant, the chic, intimate, elegant, refined star table, worrying at least detail and thinking with the same surgical precision as a high-coating fashion collection. the chef, jan hendrik van der westhuizen, could have been model, photographer, decorator, stylist, but he has chosen to share his passion for the cuisine, first at the service of a billionaire on a yacht as personal chef then, thanks to the pascal szanfran olive investor who has crumbled in him, in his own place to generously offer to a more and more customer pick up the succulent homemade bread that is served in a pretty bird nest and finish with a fresh and acidulated sweetness; the granny smith apple stuffed with mature cheese 24 months! exquisite!the Jan restaurant, as a way of being able to see, offers you a small gourmet gift to take away with the addition and also makes life easier thanks to its fully free valet service.
