Schooners Grill - Newport News

Hubby picked this spot for a Saturday lunch and it was perfect. We sat in their covered seating area (that is important to us because we are pale). I am not a big drinker, but when our waitress read the drink of the day, it sounded delicious and it was! It was mocha raspberry iced coffee with Bailey's and vodka as well as Cordial. It went down smooth. Hubby had the BLT with a side of green beans and I had the grilled salmon filet with a side of pasta salad. Both were amazing!! The BLT had extra B and the Salmon was grilled to perfection. Both sandwiches were falling apart and messy to eat, which I believe is a sign of a good sandwich. Our waitress Fae was sweet and attentive. And she gets extra points for calling me beautiful. We are going to try this place out for dinner while we are here too!!

Food was delicious as usual. Good vibe, good service. I had the grilled fish and chips. The fish is definitely real. I had to pull a bone out. Lol. The shrimp were good a little bit to much breading for me, but still delicious.

The salmon was pretty good! I was a bit hesitant with the brown mashed potatoes, but they were better than I expected. This meal was priced very well! $20 for 2 pieces of salmon!! Go get you some!

Everything about my experience here was great! The service was on point, friendly, and quick. I got the salmon and it was perfectly blackened, medium rare, and very flavorful. The garlic asparagus was also very well done. Go enjoy a great meal!

I EVEN NIBBLED TO TAKE SOME HOME! My waiter CHRISTIAN WAS TOTALLY OUTSTANDING AND HE TOLD ME HE JUST STARTED!! GO SOON… GO NOW!
