Sea Glass Bistro Lounge - Newport

Good drinks, salad good, oyster good, steak left something to wish. for the price I expected better.

Always love the food here. Been coming here since the first time we stayed. Back then it was called Starfish Grill. Best clam chowder we have had. Still! Haven't found anything that tops it.

I have to admit when we pulled up and realized this restaurant was in the Best Western we said Ummm apologies in advance if this is not a great experience...I had no idea this was the hotel restaurant! No apologies needed the food was amazing and so was the service! We sat outside on the patio at a table with a gas fire in the middle of it looking out over the ocean. Two of us had the Cioppino, which as a seafood dish with multiple types of seafood is not easy to make and have everything the proper temp and texture, yet all of it was spot on and delicious. One person had the burger, which looked amazing and was clearly a hand made patty. The fries also got a thumbs up. Our server was on top of everything we needed and had clearly been doing this for a long time. It definitely doesn 't feel like you 're in a hotel at all, and even the large bar/interior was very classy and nice. I would definitely go back.

It was uncomfortably hot throughout the restaurant. The tables were damaged and unclean, as were the windowsills next to the tables. My fiance and I both order the steak frites. The frites were delightful, though the steaks were overcooked, dry, and grainy. It tasted like the steaks were baked rather than grilled or pan-fried. The only bright spot of eating here was that our waitress was extremely nice, helpful, and thoughtful.

Really bad experience that's all I can say. Enough that they without question refunded our entire bill.
