Manhua Cha - Newcastle upon Tyne

Manhua Cha is hands down the best bubble tea spot. Their bubble tea is absolutely irresistible - if you haven't fallen in love with it yet, you just haven't found the right flavor combo. With an extensive selection of flavors, they outshine any other bubble tea store I've been to in the UK (and I've been to about five!). My personal favorite is the passion fruit iced tea with blueberry boba balls - the boba balls are like little bursts of flavor that pop in your mouth when you suck them up with their thick straws. Most places only offer traditional tapioca pearls, but Manhua Cha goes above and beyond by offering both options. The tapioca pearls have a unique texture that may take some getting used to, so I'd recommend trying the boba balls first if it's your first time. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially if you're a newbie and need help choosing a flavor. Whether you prefer a comforting hot tea or a refreshing iced tea, they have it all. The flavors are so spot-on that you may forget you're even drinking tea - the passion fruit tea tastes more like a fruit juice. The comic book theme adds a fun touch to the atmosphere. I've never had a bad experience here - the service is always top-notch and the bubble tea is unmatched. I can't wait to keep exploring their menu and trying new flavors.

During our stay at the hotel, we were told that we must try bubble tea and were recommended to go to Manhua Cha. This small shop located at the Stack was a pleasant surprise. I was hesitant at first since I had never tried bubble tea before, but my daughter convinced me to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did! The tapioca balls were a unique experience, and the drink itself reminded me of an iced coffee or milkshake. The staff was extremely friendly and patient with me as a first-timer. I would definitely return next time we are in Newcastle.
