The Balfour Kitchen - New Farm

I would have received no star for the service provided by a person in the restaurant if possible. He was shocking and asked us to leave our table after less than half an hour before we were offered to see the...dessert menu! Who does that?!?!?? From the beginning he was very unpleasant and pushy with the selection of wine that made us uncomfortable. He was so eager to take our order that he completely missed my duck. He then threw us into the small seating area as soon as we finished our main thing and proposed to order the dessert there. Seriously, my friends didn't even finish their wine! In the end we never gave the Dessert menu; instead we got the bill! We left immediately and noticed on the way out that our table was separated in 3 tables was empty. I've never seen that before! The food was a good service at the roofing bar was excellent, but they were overshadowed by the bad behavior of this individual. I could not recommend this place and ask if we had received this kind of service if we had been white

Very bad food that made our father’s day breakfast a disappointing experience, an honest feedback for the cook “less is more”, dry chicken and waffles without taste, all about spiced and way to much sweet Mayo on everything, maybe to hide happiness of taste,...Mushrooms on toast so wet drowning in sauce made bread soggy, we could not stop so much

Beautiful restored building, beautiful veranda setting for food and excellent service. We had the $80 tasting menu and the food was good, beautiful presented. It could have been a 5 stars perfect evening, with the exception of the big rowing party that the roof...bar... nobody else could enjoy it; then they moved into the veranda to dine and ruin the ambience for all others. If Balfour wants to host big parties, they need a separate dining room.

Breakfast was sensational in Balfour cuisine. Nice old Queenslander house, renovated in a stylish restaurant bar and hotel. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Our food was top-class, I had the mushroom and gnocchi, which looked delicious and even tasted better. My husband had the big breakfast and was unable to finish as it was so big! Not expensive for the quality we ate. Well done

Had a breakfast today and was just dissatisfied , poached eggs on all plates were hard as rocks. I love this place but today was awful not a nice birthday at all
