Bidrage med feedbackGreat patio and most importantly, dog friendly. Matthew was the best and we had a wonderful evening. Highly recommend the Raeburn Chardonnay, Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Country Salad.
Sitting outside had great views. Chicken Fries Steak and eggs made a great brunch experience. Would love to come back and try their Sunday evening fried chicken event.
Went with the family for Sunday fried chicken dinner and it was delicious! Started with the simple, refreshing salad and then I ate the chicken breast. It was very moist and flavorful. The kids each had 2 pieces of chicken and so did my wife, everyone loved theirs. The chicken breast on the second round wasnt as moist as the first, but the first one was really hard to beat. The mashed potatoes, corn bread, and green beans were all very good. Probably could have skipped the cream corn, but i think it's just a different take than what we are used to. We finished off with ice cream (sans cobbler). All in all, great experience as always. We weren't in a hurry and understand staffing/labor issues, so we didn't mind if we had to wait an extra couple minutes for a refill... Because the place was hopping with the great live music on the outside patio (Poor J Brown trio). Lots of smiles and full bellies, thanks River House crew!
Everything we ordered was amazing! The chili was fantastic! The chicken fried chicken was huge! The farm pasta was great! The shrimp grits were tender creamy! I would also recommend the deviled eggs corn fritters as appetizers.
Other diners at our table tried the special, a steak topped with blue cheese (not shown), and they remarked that their meals were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée, which was fantastic—unlike some places that over-torch the sugar and end up burning it. Our server, Zack, was attentive and accommodating, enhancing our dining experience. Despite it being the opening of Wuerst Fest with busy parking, the restaurant managed its spaces well, and we found several spots available in their small lot. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu. My only minor issue is that they don’t serve cocktails, only beer and wine. However, this is more reflective of my personal drinking preferences, as I did enjoy the wine we chose for dinner.
