Israel's is unlike any other Mexican restaurant in town. This is upscale food rather than the standard deep-fried chimichanga with a side of bland beans fare you get many places. Every plate brought to our table was gorgeous! I had the special of mahi-mahi tacos, and each taco was filled with a delicious and generous helping of perfectly prepared fish. We shared a large queso as an appetizer, and it was the best queso I've ever had. One of my fellow diners told our server to surprise him by picking an entrée for him, and he was thrilled with her choice. The only downside to our dinner was that they haven't gotten their liquor license yet, which would have been nice to know upon making the reservation; however, we were allowed to bring in our own bottle of wine to enjoy with our dinner. We were all so wowed by the food that we didn't mind that we were missing margaritas. I can't wait to go back here again once margaritas and sangria are options. In the meantime, bring a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy a lovely meal and good service.
We came up for the Kentucky Derby.......wandered onto this wonderful place by mistake. Best (gourmet Mexican food I have ever placed in my mouth. I'm from TN and would consider driving the distance to eat here again. :
My husband and I ate at Israel's last Saturday Night and the food was amazing! I had the burrito and my husband had an enchilada dish. We were both amazed at the amount of food on the plate and the presentation was beautiful. I had so much leftover that I had lunch for Sunday! We definitely will be back!
Delicious food with its own taste and not like every other restaraunt! We will be going back! Our server worked super hard being the only server there!!
