Bidrage med feedbackExpected a warm welcome rather than a will be with you in a minute. Chicken was great! Fries just so so (McDonalds much better), Mac n cheese a real disappointment (dry lukewarm and needed spices). 3 votes to go to Guy"s will try another location. Felt like a fast food place for $40 plus.
Now this is some good chicken. Chicken is perfect Nashville style, served ON A GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH with spicy pepper cheese! Amazing!
This place is closed. Don’t bother trying to find it esp with downtown Nashville traffic. Wasted my time because this listing is out of date. Yelp here I come!
Easily a must on the growing list of Nashville Hot Chicken spots, as the fare makes its continued wave of popularity felt. They have a very different and unique spin on the concept. They'll never tell you what's in their blend of spice, but there is an Indian flair to it. Perhaps cumin or turmeric or both. The real top off is their full blown fat kid invention of deep frying a grilled cheese with pepperjack, via the same badder and method as the chicken. Their menu is pretty much entirely horrible for your health, but oh so damned great. Do the Apple Jack (that fried sammich with hot apples) and turn it into a mild religious experience. One big downer their staff has a lot to learn about beer in a town that's really married to brewery and craft beer culture. They don't know much about their taps at any given time.
November 19th 2019. I went to Nashville to attend the contractor's licensing board meeting and turn in my application. Now I'm a licensed contractor. I wanted something for lunch that was special to Nashville that I couldn't find anywhere else. I think I made a very good choice by coming here. I wanted the chicken, but I wanted the grilled cheese. Actually I wanted to try everything on the menu. I settled with the tender royale as it would give me a good sampler. Let's start with the chicken. I ordered it one step below the very hottest and it was perfect. Some places don't know what hot is, but this is Pepperfire. Actually, there wasn't much pepper flavor, but it seemed to me to be way too salty. I liked the breading, and I liked the flavor, but I didn't like so much salt. I really wanted to try the chicken cuts, and the skin especially, but I sacrificed that to have the grilled cheese. That deep fried grilled cheese was the bomb and I'm glad I got to try it. I love grilled cheese but I won't pay money for one I can make at home. This one was like no other I've ever had. I don't know what kind of bread that was and I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was incredible. And it was filled with cheesy goodness! I'm also a Mac and Cheese nut, but I regret having ordered it being that I already got my cheese fix from the grilled cheese. That's nobody's fault than my own, and it was some really good Mac and Cheese. The real star of the show for me was the greens. This is literally the best I think I've ever had. They were fresh and they weren't boiled down into a mush. They had ham in it and lots of flavor. I eat greens straight from the garden so I like them raw. This is how I want them cooked. Only thing that would make it better would be to put turnips in it. I could eat a whole bowl of it, and I'd rather have a second helping of this than any dessert. I can't think of another restaurant where you'll get better greens.
