Bidrage med feedbackDecided to try this establishment for a Sunday dinner with friends. Friendly staff and very accommodating. A party of six that each ordered a different entree and several starters as well. Everything was beautifully presented, with the cold dishes cold and the hot dishes hot....More
The serving portions are on the too large size, but the food is so good, we ate the whole thing. Many others enjoyed half their main, and then had the leftovers wrapped for later. The kitchen does a lovely job of capturing the take away portion inside an aluminum foil long-necked swan. Very creative.I had the smokey wild mushroom soup, and wished I'd simply asked for three of them for my meal.As mains, my wife had the meat loaf and I had the stroganoff. Both were excellent, but as mentioned the serving sizes were large. We'll have to decide when we go the next time if we split one main, or do the left-over take-out option. The charm of the converted one-room school house is enough to bring you back. The service team was excellent, and attentive, without being in your face or pushy. This would also be a wonderful and unique location for a small wedding (lovely perennial gardens) and reception.
My friend and I would meet here twice a year to catch up. Have even taken others to it, but this last lunch today, is literally my last lunch. The menu was very limited and I didn't see anything that enticed me. While we decided on our lunch we ordered a half litre of white wine, which was basically a glass each, and when we got the bill it was $28!!!! for a half litre!!! I ordered the omelette and that's what I got an omelette and a grilled half tomato which was so hard I couldn't eat it.
This is my favourite place. Never let me down in 2 years. Great portions, great flavours and the best service.
A great place to bring friends or family .For a quiet Sunday afternoon brunch Food and service great! I will look forward to return again. Roy Craig
