Bidrage med feedbackThe Bachelor Farmer is a restaurant in the city that pays homage to its Scandinavian roots. It was a fantastic way to begin my week in the city. The atmosphere is upscale yet cozy, making the experience of sharing family-style dishes even more enjoyable. I arrived at 6pm, which was early for dinner service, and started with the October Country cocktail recommended by Hannah. It was a refreshing blend of pear cider, dry vermouth, and other ingredients. As a vegetarian, I opted for the Wild rice salad and Yukon gold potatoes for dinner. The dishes had a nice balance of sweet, sour, and crunch, though I found that the salt sprinkled on top made the food taste saltier than necessary.
Pretty pricey, and the portion sizes are small. The food was ok, I liked the dessert best. The staff are nice and friendly, but it's not my cup of tea.
The Bachelor Farmer is a unique restaurant with all local products that would be a perfect destination for tourists that would like to taste Nordic influenced food. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Every Monday they have a chop night. Their portions have a perfect size, so you won’t leave hungry.
I loved the dimly lit ambiance of both, The Bachelor Farmer and Marvel Bar. We started the night downstairs with a few cocktails at Marvel Bar as we waited for our reservation upstairs. We had a few more drinks once we were seated upstairs but the food was where we enjoyed ourselves the most. We started off with the Duck Broth, Popovers and the Fresh Cow's Milk Toast. Everything exceeded our expectations, so we decided to continue to choosing our entrees. We decided on the Grilled Devin Beef and the Market Fish (Walleye), which were also amazing. I highly recommend visiting both Marvel Bar and The Bachelor Farmer in the same visit.
Came in on a cold morning. Excited that there was a mushroom soup on the menu, got shot down when they said they were out and it was only 11am. So went with the salmon option. I wish it came with another piece of toast as there was lots of salmon on it. But I wasn’t about to pay $3 for one piece of bread. Coffee was good. Cute interior. Bathrooms clean and nice. But prices are higher here. Didn’t get chance to get pastry. No signage on the front so had to kind of guess and really look at map. That would help if there was a sign.
