Bidrage med feedbackCan't wait to go back. Service was on point and a nice atmosphere to enjoy your eats.
The food was great and the waitress was amazing. However we were told not to worry that we didn?t have our birthday coupons for my husband and daughter because they could look it up. No where does it say that if I haven?t eaten there in awhile then thepoints account goes dormant. So they wouldn?t honor the birthday meals we ordered.
I have been visiting Mesquite Pit for several years now, and after everything reopened, I noticed that their prices are lower than some of the other more upscale restaurants. It offers excellent meals at a great value. The service is good, and the staff are friendly and approachable. I highly recommend Mesquite Pit for both the quality of food and the level of service.
I'm new to Texas, so I wouldn't call myself a BBQ expert, but the other places I've tried so far are much better than this one. Our bartender was fantastic and the atmosphere was welcoming. However, the food was quite bland, especially the brisket and ribs. It wasn't all bad, but I believe there is definitely room for improvement.
During our visit, the food was served a bit too cold, which likely reflects the inattentiveness of our server, who was mostly absent. Mia was friendly but not very focused on ensuring drinks were filled or checking on things like extra napkins or whether the food was cooked properly. We ordered a ribeye and sliced brisket for our meals. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, so kudos to the chef for that. It was tender, but unfortunately lacking in flavor. My ribeye was quite disappointing; it tasted like it had been seasoned with allspice—very bland. For $30, this steak should be bursting with flavor and practically melt in your mouth. TIP: Steaks are typically topped with butter for added flavor and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The sliced brisket also needs significant improvement; it seems store-bought and just reheated, definitely not fresh. It was quite dry and lacked any smoke ring, so we left most of it uneaten. My dog, however, enjoyed it! As for the sides, I’ve never encountered a place that doesn’t offer mac and cheese as an option with brisket. However, there are plenty of other choices, including mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, French fries, green beans, baked beans, fried okra, and half a corn on the cob. I hope to see some changes soon so I can give them a 5-star review!
