Hungry Sumo - Milwaukee

What a great Japanese restaurant. The price is cheaper than some of the great Japanese restaurant that I had in Chicago. However, the quality of their Nigiris are superior than those. The taste of the rice is great, the seafood is fresh. the amount of ingredient putting into the don were generous. Their pork broth ramen was the one we all agree it was tasty! Overall, great service, great food, great vibe.

One of my fave restaurants in Milwaukee!!! I have never been disappointed here. The sushi is so fresh, ramen is perfect, pork buns are super tasty. You really can’t go wrong!! Plus the vibe is amazing they are always playing great music, and staff is super friendly and helpful. It is a pretty small restaurant so you might have a wait but it is definitely worth it!!

The food here was great! We had gyoza, (2) of the house specialty sushi rolls, and pad see ew. All the dishes were very well done and the variety of house specialty sushi rolls and standard sushi rolls was very extensive. The environment was mellow and fairly quiet and you could watch the chefs roll sushi in the back. If you’re a sushi fan I would definitely suggest giving Hungry Sumo a try.

Went the other day and had a great time! The food was great, they make all of the sushi out in the open. The fried mushroom steamed rolls were a surprising highlight as a starter! It's a really fun atmosphere as well: lively, fun decor, and intimate. Keep in mind they don't accept reservations and they are quite busy. Expect at least 30 minute wait and they don't have much space to wait inside. We went to Crafty Cow for a drink while waiting.

I love this place! I always come here for the tonkotsu ramen and pork buns. Always busy during dinner time though, so i'd recommend getting a reservation. Better yet, come during lunch time! Friends say the sushi is great as well! I just can't have it : . See attached photos!
