Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel

Trips from America to Sydney always include a stop or two at Lord Nelson’s....great food, spectacular beer and of course great people on both sides of the bar as well as being in one of the greatest cities on the planet. Cheers

Fantastic brewery with a great selection of beers. I was only in Sydney for three days but went there twice once in the evening and once at lunchtime. Both midweek and both times the place was heaving with tourists and locals. This is obviously a sign that the place is well liked by everyone who discovers it. I had the tasting paddles so managed to taste all the beers that were available. I also had a delicious lamb burger for lunch. Will definitely go again when I next visit Sydney.

One of my favourite pubs great historic architecture, it feels so wonderfully warm and homey inside, like stepping back into a bit of history albeit a booze sodden history. Come early in the day when it's quiet, or come in for lunch (great modern pub food menu). Somebody in another review was bemoaning the absence of Nelson's Blood on tap I had the same thought until I tried the Anileation (an Irish Stout) an amazingly complex beer with bitter coffee, sweet chocolate, oatmeal, and a whole lot of other things going on in there! Child friendly too!

The Victory Bitter and Old Admiral dark were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our food came in a timely fashion. The fried fish was exceptional the beef pie was good but not the best I've had.
