Bidrage med feedbackThe lunch time week day menu du jour is the best value there is always a choice of salmon or steak if you don 't like the 'plat du jour '. We go here many times a year and have never had the same menu always a delightful surprise and well presented. You eat on the terrace in summer with views of the banana trees and across the lake in winter there is a large wood fire burning in modern surroundings.
The food here is very good and the vegetarian platter is always excellent. The portions are generous and the staff are very friendly. We have never had a bad meal here and would recommend it. The fixd menus are a little expensive but the food is good.
This was a very regular lunch venue for our girls lunch, and we used to find it excellent value and the food was imaginative, if plain. However on our last visit, the dish of the day, which is in the menu du jour, was so tough (pork) that it was inedible. I did complain to the proprietor, but she did not seem very interested. We will not be going again.
Les Vallons is a hotel, campsite, lakeside leisure complex, and restaurant. Whilst we also used the lake, this review is for restaurant only. A Logis rated restaurant in France should be dependable quality, and Les Vallons is absolutely this. Not a cheep bistro, and not a Michelin gastronomique, but something in between. Good ambience and setting, quality table placements, very good service. The Magret and Confit were both quite excellent. The fish was good. House wine was good and good value. 20Eu per head for 2 courses including drinks very good value. Highly recommended.
The restaurant has continually upped its standards, now the evening menu at 24 Euro is fantastic value, the quality and presentation is equal to any TV critic. An excellent meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
