Riverdog Tavern - Middleville

Stumbled upon this place for lunch after stopping by Tom Otto’s Turkey farm. The restaurant is right downtown and it’s so nice. Our food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend stopping here before or after you take a walk along the river or through downtown.

I stopped in here around 2:00 in the afternoon for lunch. Not busy was seeded right away, ordered and food was out in less than 10 minutes. The junkyard sandwich on sourdough bread was great and I really loved their crispy fries, Good selection of beers on tap along with bottled beer. I would definitely recommend trying this place for lunch or dinner.

I stopped here for a late dinner one Friday night, and I was very happy with my meal. The staff was friendly and I was able to sit down right away because of the time. The interior was pleasant and clean, and the menu had plenty to choose from. The draught beer list was long, and I had a nice IPA from a brewery in the UP. For the food I went with the croque madame since you don’t see that offered very often. It was delicious. The mix of ham, cheese, egg, toast and bechamel sauce was decadent without being too filling. It was very rich. Based on that meal, I’m willing to bet their other options must be equally good. Riverdog would make for a great stop if you find yourself in the area.

Went for brunch. Over easy eggs, they were cooked to long, yolk hard. No butter on toast, took at least 7 minutes after asking to get butter, when received it was a melted cup of butter. They only offer grape jelly and mixed fruit.

Delicious choices for the whole family. Tots of the Month are a must try. Truly a gem. “Chicken Marsala is the best I ever tasted” by the most discerning palate at the table.
