Big Pink - Miami Beach

Big Pinks was recommended to me from a friend. We really enjoyed the diner atmosphere. The food was delicious and fairly inexpensive. I had a pizza with several cheeses. It was gourmet but somehow managed to taste like the great pizza from up north at the same time. I loved it. My husband ordered the Japanese Panko Chicken tenders which so delicious I couldn't believe it. We shared both items. We really enjoyed the food and Big Pinks is the perfect place in South Beach for someone who's watching their money but still would like to enjoy their food and atmosphere. Yummy!

While trying to find a table we were like sheep in the wilderness. No one asked to help and questioned our being there when we finally took a table and flagged a waiter down. Menus were not forthcoming and when we finally ordered, the wine we requested was not available. Some of the food we ordered was not delivered with the simple explanation, we 're out . My pulled pork sandwich was a smear of sauce with a few shreds of pork. It was perhaps intended for my black friend who ordered the same thing and got a huge helping. Manager responded to my complaints by taking my plate away and swearing at me. Do we need this? I can make better food at home and, given the current economic climate, will. You should too!

Pro's: Uh, it had a nice convenient location. And the service was pretty good. Con's: FILTH, everywhere! Tables, chairs, bathrooms (most likely the kitchen too). The food was mediocre, if that. Most the food tasted as bad as fast food from McDonald's. Overall, I have NO idea why anyone would go here to eat.

Filthy tables, menu had ketchup stains on it, dirty, dirty, and dirty! Afraid to look too closely into the kitchen area. Ladies Room was gross. Couldn't tell if anyone was in charge. All the hype must be due to location. Only positive comment is about the chips, which are made daily and served with all sandwiches.

Excellent fun place to eat. Being a local, I love it and it is a great place for great food and not expensive like the fine dining options or the so so restaurants of South Beach.
