Bidrage med feedbackRed Kimono is a standard mid-priced Japanese restaurant that will fulfill your craving for authentic Japanese cuisine. I would definitely go back for another visit.
Visited the outlet at BGC, and ordered Salmon Maki and Red Dragon from their Maki Masterpiece section of the menu. Taste wise, the 2 maki's were normal, nothing spectacular. Price point is good; Service is good as well, very prompt and friendly.
We dined at Red Kimono at Fort Strip yesterday. We ordered California maki for 180 pesos, Gyudon for 265 pesos, Katsudon for 210 pesos, and Oyakudon for 210 pesos. I enjoyed the bottomless iced tea, only 75 pesos for 4 glasses. My daughter had a mango shake for 95 pesos and my other daughter had a delicious Blue Margarita for 220 pesos. We had a satisfying lunch at a reasonable price. There was a service charge of 10%.
Red Kimono Branch - Level 2, Glorietta 2, Ayala Center Makati CityOrdered all of my favorites! Chicken teriyaki, kani salad, Cripy salmon maki, gyoza, and iced tea! What a nice way to have pre-Christmas dinner with my friend. Though, I should warn you about the space of this branch. I had to seat by the glass window. For someone who has fear of cramped spaces the area very small and I feel like suffocating. I had to look the other way. Lol
I would give this restaurant a 2.5 out of 5 rating rather than a 3. I visited the branch in Glorietta with a friend this evening. Firstly, we had to seat ourselves as there was no one to greet or seat us, and it took a while for our table to be cleared. Secondly, the tables and chairs were too close together, which made my friend feel a bit claustrophobic due to the dim lighting. The food was decent but not outstanding, and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, they did not have the kamameshi rice that I was looking forward to. The branch seemed more like a fast food restaurant, as it was named "Red Kimono Quick". The miso soup was bland, the gyoza was okay, the chicken teriyaki was average, and the crunchy salmon sashimi was good but too rich for my friend's taste. Lastly, the service was very poor with unsmiling and inattentive servers who took a long time to bring us the bill. I may return for the food, but I will try a different branch next time.
