Bidrage med feedbackStopped by here for a quick afternoon bite with my daughter. Service was fast and friendly. I had the tempura prawn udon noodle soup with salad for $12. My daughter had the teriyaki chicken and rice paired with a nice miso soup for $13. Both dishes were plentiful and delicious. Will return for dinner soon.
I was very impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the imaginative dishes served. My friend and I were very happy with the food and price of our lunchtime specials $13). Open for lunch Tuesday to Saturday and for dinner Tuesday to Sunday.
I've tried nearly all the Japanese restaurants in the west and this (apart from the occasional dish at Ajitoya and Ebi) is the tasiest and most authentic around. The takoyaki is the closest to the ones I've tried in Japan and Taiwan crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside with a decent chunk of octopus. The torikara fried chicken is flavoursome and juicy (big serve for the price), the teriyaki chicken don is tasty with the poached egg, the beef tataki elegantly presented (though slightly overcooked), and the chicken katsu curry was delicious with tender beef pieces and the chicken cutlet very crispy, as it should be. I'll be back for more.
My most authentic Japanese restaurant in Melbourne so far. The chicken katsu curry is ridiculously addictive!! Restaurant staff is as welcoming friendly as anyone could have hoped for. Super-highly recommended!!
Racecourse Rd in Flemington keeps dishing up the surprises. This was excellent Japanese food served with a smile and very promptly. The mural on the wall is quirky and gives you the menu if you look all over it. They do provide you with a menu so that you can make your choices. We decided that the Vegetable Miso Soup would be a good way to start as it was quite a cold evening and it was seasoned to perfection. The Seaweed Salad with the Ponzu-gelee dressing was scrumptious and the Tako Yaki (Octopus pancake balls) were piping hot and an excellent contrast to the crisp salad. The Teriyaki Chicken Don was sublime and the Charcoal Grilled Steak with Yakiniku Sauce was so tender you could pull it apart with the chopsticks. We finished the meal off with the Creme Brulee with Matcha Sauce which is a suprisingly perfect combination of sweet and bitter and a great way to finish off a really great meal.
