Bidrage med feedbackThis place is an absolute delight! I always come here for a yam soba and beef tongue. I have yet to see a soba shop that makes YAN soba as good as this one! Their salmon goes very well with the soba. The tofu dishes there will always be a perfect pair to the beef tongue. And a cup of sake to wash it all down. A magnificent experience.
Had the Salmon Quinoa Salad Soba and it has always been my regular choice at this restaurant because it tastes so good! Mum had the Red Dragon and she appreciates the slight bit of spiciness in it. The agedashi tofu is well seasoned. Overall, always serving amazing meals here! Highly recommended!
My go to soba place! always recommend this place if you want a good soba
It has been a long while since we had Japanese food and decided to have some delicious authentic soba noodles.<br/ <br/ LOCATION<br/ <br/ Shimbashi Soba Sake Bar is situated on Liverpool Street a small laneway between Bourke Street and Little Bourke Street, further up the forgotten end of Chinatown. It’s a small cosy restaurant which is quite nice and something you would see when you’re in Japan, a lot of eateries are actually small establishments. Décor is simple with dark wood furniture’s, it has as homely feel about it and very relaxed comfortable atmosphere.<br/ <br/ SERVICE<br/ <br/ Friendly and courteous staff. Our waitress was very sweet and always smiling. Our meals were delivered promptly and tea was topped up without even us having to ask. <br/ <br/ MENU/PRICE<br/ <br/ Agedashi Tofu, $7.00<br/ (deep-fried tofu with tempura sauce)<br/ <br/ Tempura Soba, $20.00<br/ (2 prawns, 1 whiting, mixed vegetable tempura with warm soba noodles)<br/ <br/ Nasu-dengaku, $7.00<br/ (deep-fried eggplant with sweet miso sauce)<br/ <br/ Vegetable croquette, $5.00<br/ (deep-fried vegetable croquette with sauce)<br/ <br/ Vegetarian Soba, $14.00<br/ (mixed vegetables with soba noodle soup)<br/ <br/ VERDICT<br/ <br/ I really enjoyed my tempura soba. The tempura were fried fresh, crispy and very tasty with the tempura sauce. The soba noodles were chewy, springy and easy to eat! Love their soba noodles. So tasty! The croquettes were fried very nicely with a nice crunch. The eggplant was juicy and very tasty. Agedashi tofu was also delicious. Overall we had a really delicious meal. <br/ <br/
I was recommended this soba noodle place by my dental assistant where I get my Teeth done. She is Japanese and said it was owned and run by Japanese people. <br/ <br/ We ordered a prawn sushi roll to start! It was my favourite thing of the night!<br/ <br/ I ordered the red dragon. It’s very spicy I would say 10 on 1 to ten. It was a struggle for me and I normally love spicy food! But the taste was amazing and good portions.<br/ <br/ My partner ordered the mushroom soba. It was so intense. The flavour of the broth was amazing. I personally couldn’t eat a whole bowl because it was strong. But my partner loved it. <br/ <br/ We both can’t wait to go back and try other things off the menu
