Bidrage med feedbackNot to go. Seriously. So we wanted something else. We made reservations and picked up the tickets the day before. I guess you're curious to understand what we have for our all-in-all 500€ for nine people (4 adults, 4 children around 16 years and one around 10 . Clear blue sky turns at night. (A honourable mention is the fact that when night comes, you sit in a fish breast with reflective walls... Upon arrival we were offered by the staff who welcomed us. Service was good. And then it was time for dinner. First, an amazing carrot soup. How carrots were involved is still a secret. But the broth was salty. Good for the additional sale of drinks. Then to Sallad. Amazing enough a pretty basic Austrian salladerin. And the battle at the Sallad buffet was a sight for acidic eyes. To the fondue. Yes, oil, great for everything you wear. You bring it home. Some vegetables served immediately. Just before you wait 10 minutes for the meat. The veggies were probably warm sometime. Fries and potato wedges were good, but for the price we paid, we decided to go instead for the expensive stuff. Unfortunately, it wasn't as exclusive as we hoped. It was beef, pig and chicken. Expects wagyu, got Austrian cow. Sauce bland af. 3 of them. Wow, what choice! Chef was most likely from the city for the occasion. Eventually, time for Dessert. Back to the buffet, but this time we got into action. We made a beautiful killing that marks behind no doubt for life. Unfortunately, the bakery cook visited the same conference as the sous cook. It was at least sweet... some tips from a spiced veteran. Don't go to tira mi su. Or the Straciatella. Or the... good, be nice to yourself and skip the desserts completely. Unless you're in dirt you have to dampen the anxiety attack by the main course (and the money you just spent). But be ready for the battle in this case. Finally, dinner was made possible in most school cantina way. Our proposal is to skip the event overall and simply buy a ticket for the igloo party in the White Lounge. Special experience in a unique place. Like the fondue?
We have this trip to the maple on 19. July. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children aged 13 and 10. The experience was quite expensive for us, but we felt that it is worth seeing the sunset on such a beautiful evening. Luckily the heavens were clear and the sun seemed. All employees were very pleasant and helpful and certainly did everything to us all feel welcome in this beautiful restaurant. The BBQ was okay. A little hard at the marinade. The cook was a bit disorganized at times at the grill and was seen to handle more than once with his hands. 175 euros have been spent on our tickets that contain the food. We were very happy to experience such a beautiful sunset, but we felt honestly a small piece of food left off. Just our personal opinion.
We went to the Wednesday evening fondue and we were quite disappointed. Firstly when we arrived, we were shown to our table and we were not sure what the procedure was. There was a plate of raw meat and several dips and salads. It took a while before our drinks order was taken (which is unusual in Austria). We weren't sure whether to start cooking or not. Some time later a soup arrived which was very nice. We all decided that it was the lack of atmosphere that was the main issue. There was a feeling of lack of organisation. Our fondue never reached a hot enough temperature to fry an onion ring, despite us asking for assistance. There was no access to the ski slopes as all of the doors were locked so you couldn't go out into the darkness and look at the stars. I would not recommend this to anyone and would suggest you spend your 39 Euros in one of the atmospheric establishments down in the village.
We booked a rather expensive fondue night on Mount Ahorn. Taking into account that we had excellent food at our hotel for half the price we all left the place rather disappointed. the food was OK, nothing more nothing less, what could have made night special was a tour through the place. We could not see anything of the nice view, the drinks were expensive and the food not special enough for the price. We had to wait for almost an hour before we were able to leave again, as the gondola left so late. They coats should have been brought to a different room, as it is a fondue my coat still stinks and the dinner was 4 days ago. We would not go again, unless there was a severe change in value for money.
Leider ist der Freiraum geschlossen, weil sich kein Pächter mehr gefunden hat..Stand Januar 2017:-(Der Ahornberg verliert damit stark an Attraktivität
