Sumi Korean - Markham

I don't understand why this placed closed. One of the best Korean restaurants in town. We ate here twice during our 5-day trip to Toronto. It's THAT GOOD. The grilled duck is HEAVENLY! Wrapped in pickled radish and cabbage....mmmmm, my mouth is watering typing this! If anyone knows where they hv moved to, please post here. If you are the owner reading this, pls consider reopening. I'm desperately looking for a good Korean duck place and haven't had any luck.

Couldn't even find the restaurant according to the information shown on yelp. : they should fix the address and make it easier to find.

Love the menu variety of Korean duck and chicken dishes (as well as others). Great service. And lots of banchan and service items too!

My husband and I went here for lunch today. The restaurant has a nice, modern decor. I ordered the grilled mackerel fish and soybean tofu soup and he ordered the duck spicy soup. Both entrees came with multigrain rice. The grilled fish was very flavourful and delicious. The soybean was a bit too salty and I mentioned it to a staff. My husband enjoyed his soup. There were plentiful of side dishes including the eggplant, broccoli, kimchi, soybeans, cucumbers, and mashed sweet potato (this was our favourite). We would come back again and try the ginseng chicken and their bbq. I like their cleanliness, Korean music playing in the background and effort in keeping the washrooms clean.

Was searching for Korean food around this area and found this hidden gem. Food is amazing here. The environment is clean, decently decorated and servers are friendly. We came in at 9:45 pm and didn’t realized they closed at 10:30pm, but they still treat us very well. I ordered a grilled mackerel with soy bean paste soup and my bf got a duck soup with rice. Both of them were tasty and fresh! The side dishes were very impressive as well, each of them are unique and fresh! I didn’t expect to have 7 of them. I also love how they served me hot tea instead of room temp tea (yaaasssss). Will definitely come back sometime and would like to try their chicken dishes!
