Bidrage med feedbackIf you are looking for a place where you can taste authentic, traditional, almost forgotten roman dishes, look no further. This little family run restaurant nested in the gorgeous town of Marino (south of Rome) will provide you with a truly encompassing gastronomic and cultural experience. The owner, Nando, and his lovely wife, daughter and son in law, are managing the place as one would manage his own kitchen, with a true love for local food and catering. Everything is home made, and locally sourced and produced. The pasta is exceptional, and so are the desserts. The courtesy is top notch, they will make you feel like you are having dinner at a friend´s house. Nando sat next to us and recounted stories of the place´s history, how the town looked 50 years ago, and even how he met his wife 60 years ago, just a few hundred meters from the restaurant itself. That was part of the whole experience to me: food as mean to share culture and connect with people. The true italian experience, away from the disgustingly touristic city center of the Capital. Here you won´t find Fettuccine Alfredo, and they will laugh at you if you order an espresso with a lemon twist. Quite rightly so. Do yourself a favor and visit this place. The food, flavors and the stories told there will remain with you forever.
This place respects the traditional roman way to cook food, simple and tasteful. it seems to eat at home of real roman 'mamma ' 'mum '. good prices as well! amatriciana and cacio e pepe pastas are awesome! good prices
Amazing place, amazing food, the best of the best. I will back. Grazie. I recommend
We went to the square for a family lunch and it was delicious! The environment is relaxing and welcoming, it wasn't too crowded and all the staff pampered us from start to finish. The fresh dishes and homemade pasta are exceptional, genuine, just what you are looking for from an osteria in Castelli Romani. The bread is served hot, the wine in the carafe goes down on its own. I recommend trying Mrs. Francesca's homemade biscuits served with coffee, they are out of this world.
The place is nice with special interior decorations. There is only one room and outside tables. The service is quite quick and the dishes of the Roman culinary tradition are present. It 's a shame that pizza is completely missing from the menu (otherwise I would have given it five stars). We recommend the la piazzetta chips which are homemade and served with grated cheese on top. The bread and these chips are served in white paper bags. Parking on the street not always easy to find.
