I don't know why this place is listed on happycow. the word vegan does not appear on their menu and the waiters also do not know about veganism. if they indicate that they wish to eat it without milk, eggs and especially fish sauce or garnish paste, they will show their options. as in most Thai place in mainz, they still have a lot of choice than vegan and the food quality is also good. Just note when they go here that this is not a vegan place at all, but a place that is aware of food or allergies and ensure that without advertising it or make it particularly visible on their menu.
A large selection of drinks, among them beautiful beer, weine and excellent caipirinha, a Brazilian drink. many starters choose from including spring rollers. most people in our group chose the pad thai escape and each servier looked like enough to serve a family of four! I had the long song and it was spicy enough to sniff you, but still very tasteful to stay. the tofu was boiled to perfection and the cocoss sauce was the envy of my table. they put a candle under the plate to keep the food warm. No one had a place to try dessert. most diners brought the rest of their meal home. if they arrive before 18 o'clock, they can order from the lunch menu, which is quite a save. they speak thai, German and English, and perhaps others. that was my second time here and most of my table often go there. great appetizer and cure selection with many vegetarian and vegan options.
I love Thai food, and love Thai Country. Excellent service. Food food, and a very nice cozy place to eat.
We are in Mainz a lot and familiar with several restaurants in town.We have not been to this place and decided to give it our first visit. Unfortunately, it was also our last. I ordered crispy duck which was tough and cold. My husband ordered...curry chicken, the sauce was soupy and bland. My son's fried rice was too salty. To add insult to injury, our waitress was rude at the outset. When our food arrived, we asked for some chopsticks and she had the nerve to tell us that we should have asked for the chopsticks when we ordered our food. What?!
